My client is looking for a skilled 2nd/3rd Line engineer IT adept in troubleshooting and maintenance. If you are keen to gain exposure in project implementation and third line support, this just may be the role for you!

The company is looking for an experienced and 2nd/3rd line engineer or systems Administrator to join their IT team based in the South West, London.

About The Role
The Systems Engineer will be the part of the senior technical support team and responsible for maintaining aspects for the organisation’s infrastructure and customer infrastructure. Duties will also include supporting virtual servers, backups, Exchange troubleshooting and more. You will also get to be a number of projects including cloud migrations and upgrades. This role will involve some travel to client sites, mainly within London. Work with IT colleagues to support day to day IT operations in the region, make changes and/or upgrades to maintain the following systems under change control guidance, where required.

About You
In order to be suitable for this position you must have proven experience working in a Systems Administrator or Senior Engineer position or similar role covering server, network and application support/administration. It is essential to have broad technical skills including Windows 2012/2016 Server, Virtualisation- Vmware/HyperV, Active Directory, Exchange 2010/2013/2016, SAN environment and general networking, Switches (ideally Cisco), VLAN’s and Firewalls (ideally ASA).

You will need:
Good all-round experience of multiple infrastructure technologies
knowledge of SAN/NAS technologies
Microsoft Server skills 2012R2 and Hyper -V including build support and administration
Microsoft Active Directory, Powershell
Veeam Backup and Symantec Backup knowledge
Networking experience TCP/IP, VLAN
Undertake new project work
Maintaining Servers
Good customer awareness, ability to manage customer expectations
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills, able to explain complex issues to non- technical users.
Proactive, self-starter, self-motivated, team player
Able to work under pressure, against timelines and good at multitasking
A good understanding of service support best practices
Experience in an IT helpdesk environment and ability to work to and implement processes
High quality and proven customer facing skills and presentable
Ability to put network and IT road map design/solutions together based upon customer requirements
Strong written and verbal skills and able to write IT proposals
