C# Developer | Sports Betting Industry | Central London | Up to £55K p/a
Are you a sports enthusiast and do you enjoy watching football matches from across the world? A Junior to Mid-Level developer is required for a specialised consultancy based in North London.
This is a unique opportunity to join successful and pioneering sports betting consultancy in brand new high spec offices in Soho, London. They have been at the forefront of cricket betting for over 10 years and they’re world-renowned as the leader in the field. Through a combination of cutting-edge research, analytical thought and a constant desire to question and improve, they maintain their position at the forefront of the sports betting market.
They work as a small team of developers, sitting directly with the business and collaborating with them to produce high-quality software. It’s an exciting environment, where you’ll get to see your software used in action daily.
You’ll be working in a microservice architecture with some of the latest technologies, helping them to constantly improve their betting systems. Joining a team of experienced software developers, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to grow and learn new skills whilst contributing to the business.
*The design, development, and delivery of new features on their betting platform. This is a full stack role, so you’ll be expected to work with both the front end – Angular, Bootstrap, with a bit of legacy WPF – and on their server-side components (C# .NET services). They don’t have any testers, so you’ll also be expected to write lots of unit tests to prove that your code is functionally correct.
*As cricket is an international sport, developers are expected to participate equally in a support rota, providing out of hours cover.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
*A degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
*Solid computer science fundamentals (data structures & algorithms)
*Demonstrable interest in software development, mainly through hobby projects or open source contribution.
*You’ll be a fast learner who is happy to dig down and solve problems independently.
*You should know what a unit test is and have an eye for quality.
BENEFICIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
*Some exposure to either relational or NoSQL databases
*Event Sourcing, CQRS, DDD.
*Message-oriented middleware (especially RabbitMQ)
