Our client is an internationally recognised cultural body, and the lead organisation for the film in the UK. They are a Government arm’s-length body and distributor of Lottery funds for film. They serve a public role which covers the cultural, creative and economic aspects of film in the UK.
About the Role
This is role is for an IT Support Technician to come and join the business at their office which is based near Fitzrovia in the City of London. Please read below some of the responsibilities of the role:
·To provide 1st / 2nd level support for users of the computer systems (this will include using a call logging system to track, monitor and maintain support calls).
·To provide support on a rotating basis for the operation and maintenance of the networks & stand-alone computer systems operating within different sites.
·To provide support to all desktops and mobile devices.
·To provide support on all purchased software for end-users.
·To provide support on all hardware peripheral devices.
·To test and install new hardware and software are liaising with team members and or suppliers/manufacturers as appropriate.
·To perform daily operational tasks on the networked systems, to ensure that daily/weekly/monthly backups are performed and accurate records are kept.
·To provide help and guidance to the users of the computer systems and encourage good practice.
·To educate support and advise users of the computer systems on housekeeping routines and procedures.
·To provide reports on relevant software/statistics for end-users devices.
·To cover in the absence of the Helpdesk Analysts to offer help and guidance to users of the computer system.
·To engage with third parties for engineering visits and to liaise over software and hardware problems reporting and resolution.
·To participate in the general operational, training and administrative activities of the IT Department.
·To undertake any other related duties as may reasonably be required.
·To be an ambassador for the organisation and always maintain a professional approach
·Create and maintain good collegiate working relationships with all staff.
·Carry out all responsibilities in a way which supports the brand’s values and promotes diversity and inclusion.
·Demonstrable previous experience of working in an IT environment
·Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
·Good working knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 7 / Windows 10)
·Working knowledge of Citrix
·Experience administering Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange 2010
·Knowledge of Cisco hardware
·Knowledge of Computer Networking
·Good working knowledge of ITIL
·Good working understanding of a call logging system
·The ability to understand user requirements with respect to IT
·Experience in dealing with external technical engineers
·Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and to manage and meet deadlines
·Ability to deal effectively with people at all levels
