About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly growing, award-winning, global design agency. We are looking for a 3rd line Systems Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our London office IT infrastructure and parts of the worldwide infrastructure. You will be working closely with the Head of IT to ensure the smooth running of IT services and carrying out projects to implement new technologies.
We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive individual with excellent time management skills. You will work both autonomously and with the team to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You will be able to self-manage and prioritise your workload. You will be expected to provide recommendations and solutions to improve IT offering. You will communicate system changes and maintenance outages to your team and all levels of the user community.
Being the only Systems Administrator in the London office, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of two to three years of experience in directly managing and being responsible for the upkeep of critical IT systems. Experience in the following areas is essential:
-Windows Server 2008, 2012 & 2016
-Backup technologies and methodologies
-Good understanding of networking principles including DNS & DHCP
-Firewall, LAN switch and networking technologies
-Office 365 administration, specifical email
-Experience working in an Apple Mac environment
You will contribute to the IT helpdesk by helping to resolve 3rd line support tickets and tickets escalated by the helpdesk team. You will help mentor them through the resolution of tickets and be a source of knowledge to turn to. There may be an occasional requirement to assist with 2nd line tickets during busy periods.
There will be a requirement to work the occasional late evening or weekend when out of hours maintenance is needed.
The ideal candidate for this role would be someone who has been in a similar position for three years and has the technical ability to hit the ground running. As they have many projects on the go there, they want someone who isn’t going to shy away from responsibility and is keen and eager to develop themselves further. You find yourself with something that needs work on always, being a hard-worker, efficient, and an excellent communicator will fit in well here.
