A Java Software Developer required to join leading edge Web & Data Harvesting team for a global analytics company with over 25 years’ innovation in their specialist field.
As part of a small talented team, you will maintain a microservices ecosystem that handles large streams of data continuously throughout the year.
You will develop (Full Lifecycle) tools that produce highly accurate and efficient data analysis models and play a key part in developing these tools to enable bots to web scrape and collect data from multiple websites.
Your responsibilities include: maintaining the data harvesting environment and fixing any issues associated with the harvesting, as well as developing longer term solutions to improve data analysis and web harvesting. You will also research, design and develop internal tools to increase efficiency and new data harvesting techniques.
·A good degree in computer science from a reputable university.
·At least 5 years’ experience using either Java, Node or C# working in a data intensive environment.
·An understanding of distributed and scalable computing patterns using messaging systems like RabbitMQ, JMS or similar
·A very good understanding of concurrency and cpu/memory efficient coding practices
·A good eye for choosing algorithms depending on the situation
·An understanding of databases and data storage technologies in the field of reporting/BI.
You will need to be bright, analytical, intuitive and a problem solver. The ideal candidate enjoys a challenge and is interested in learning new things with a demonstrable track record.

About the rewards
This role will pay up to £70,000, depending on experience. You will learn the latest technologies and methodologies within Web & Data Harvesting and remain at the cutting edge of technology.
