Network Operator Team Leader – London – Up to £65,000
Are you an eager Network Operations Engineer who is looking to take the next step into the role of a team leader?
You will need to be a strong Network Engineer keen to work in a business where communication means everything.
To be successful in the role, you will need:
*Basic understanding and experience of the following technologies: IP Protocols (ICMP, UDP, TCP); IP filtering and firewalling; Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS); Quality of Service; MPLS; Ethernet (STP, RSTP, .1q VLANs)
*Experience supporting enterprise networks composed of Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Cisco Wireless, Meraki routers & Wireless, Palo Alto Firewalls and another switching.
*Experience supporting Cisco Unified Communication System.
*Experience supporting application load balancer appliances, preferably f5.
*Participate in the rotating “on call” schedule with other members of the team
*Flexibility to work long hours under pressure during system outages and significant implementations.
*Experience with network analysis tools (preferable Corvil) and the ability to read and diagnose network packet captures.
*Experience with VPN/tunnelling technologies such as DMVPN, VTI, IPsec and SSL client VPN’s
*Proven experience in deploying and supporting network services in a large and complex environment
*Proven experience with monitoring tools (Solarwinds a plus)
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Strong aptitude and desire to learn, and expand skill set to new technologies related to networking services.
*Minimum of 2yrs working in an Operations role
*Have obtained a CCNA or equivalent experience of Cisco solutions
ABOUT THE ROLE
*Lead a team of 8 Network Operations Engineers.
*Maintain many network devices, each leveraging the most significant advancements in networking technology and day network performance monitoring
*Work closely with other network Engineers, various IT Architects, Analysts and partners.
*Work with business customers to develop network infrastructure solutions and strategies to satisfy customer requirements.
*Provide the highest level of support to all customers both internally and externally. This includes Trouble ticket generation and response; carrier interface and escalations
*Perform technical support between network services and other IT professional engineering groups, supporting the maintenance and installation, migration of new software, system upgrades, and general technical modifications.
