My client is eagerly looking or a Senior Network Operations Engineer to join their diverse team in London.
You will be a strong Senior Network Operations Engineer who is keen to work in a global property company. As well as being technically advanced, you would have fantastic customer service and can work in an IT team of around 20 people.
ABOUT THE ROLE
·Maintain many network devices each leveraging the most significant advancements in networking technology and day network performance monitoring.
·Work closely with other network Engineers, various IT Architects, Analysts and partners.
·Provide highest level of support to all customers both internally and externally. This includes Trouble ticket generation and response; carrier interface and response; carrier interface and escalations.
·Perform migrations of new software, system upgrades and extensive technical modifications.
·Basic understanding and experience of the following technologies: IP Protocols (ICMP, UDP, TCP); IP filtering and firewalling; Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS); Quality of Service, MPLS; Ethernet (STP, RSTP, 1Q VLANs).
·Experience with Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Meraki routers, Palo Alto Firewalls and other switching and wireless technologies.
·Proven experience with monitoring tools (Solarwinds a plus)
·Experience with VPN/tunnelling technologies such as DMVPN, VTI, IPsec and SSL client VPN’s.
·Basic understanding and experience of the following technologies: IP Protocols (ICMP, UDP, TCP); IP filtering and firewalling; Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS); Quality of Service; MPLS; Ethernet (STP, RSTP, .1q VLANs)
·Experience supporting enterprise networks composed of Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Cisco Wireless, Meraki routers & Wireless, Palo Alto Firewalls and another switching.
·Experience supporting Cisco Unified Communication System.
·Experience supporting application load balancer appliances, preferably F5.
·Participate in the rotating “on call” schedule with other members of the team
·Flexibility to work long hours under pressure during system outages and major implementations.
·Experience with network analysis tools (preferable Corvil) and the ability to read and diagnose network packet captures.
·Proven experience in deploying and supporting network services in a large and complex environment
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·Strong aptitude and desire to learn, and expand skill set to new technologies related to networking services.
·Minimum of 3 years working in a Net Ops role.
·Have obtained a CCNA or equivalent experience of Cisco solutions
