This role is a strategic technical position within the Technical Services team. This position will be pre-sales, solution design and project focused, although some 3rd line escalation support will be required. This individual must be extremely comfortable working in a Microsoft Server, Microsoft Cloud, VMware and medium-size business IT environments.
The role is based in our Wandsworth office, although some client visits may be required.
Responsible for being at the forefront of technology as regards SME IT and playing a lead technical role in the Technical Services team. Maintaining technical relationships with clients and suppliers and mentoring and advising junior staff. Working with the Technical Services Director to onboard new products and services while continuously reviewing current services to help achieve the business growth goals.
Role focus: Pre sales, solution design and client project implementation.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
·Provide sales assistance to the Sales Team concerning the technical knowledge of products and services
·Work closely with the Project Manager as “Technical Lead” in customer projects
·IT support relating to Citrix, Microsoft Azure, and VMware
·Design, implementation, and support services for Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, Office 365 etc.
·Design and implementation at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security
·Design and implement hosted and cloud solutions for customers using technologies that meet their requirements
·Implement and support disaster recovery solutions
·Technical services and support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security
·Administration and maintenance of the remote monitoring and management system: update agent scripts, respond to alerts, monitor dashboard, and periodic system review
·Remote access solution implementation and support: VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix
·System documentation and consulting services to include system reviews and recommendations
·Communication with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
Experience in designing and implementing solutions in a small to the mid-size business environment using the following technologies:
·Virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V, Citrix)
·Microsoft Operating System and Application Technologies (Windows Server, SQL Server, Exchange, etc.)
·Microsoft Cloud Technologies (O365, Azure, etc.)
·Backup, Disaster Recover and Business Continuity Solutions (Veeam, Zerto)
·Implementing customer-specific applications while dealing with 3rd party software companies
·Multiple VLAN network solutions (preferably HP, Cisco)
·Firewalls and network security (preferably SonicWALL, Cisco)
·Wireless Access Solutions (preferably Meraki, Cisco)
Knowledge and practical experience of the following specific network areas and technologies:
·LAN and Ethernet (including 10-gigabit technology);
·WiFi networks and components
·IPv4 and IPv6 addressing and subnets
·Firewall configuration and management (including NAT, port-forwarding, VPNs, etc.)
·DNS (name servers, DNS configuration, diagnostics, etc.)
·Routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP);
·IPSEC and other VPN technologies (e.g. PPTP, SSL-VPN etc.)
·Basis diagnostics, debugging, packet tracing and analysis of IP networks;
·Wide Area Networks (leased lines, MPLS/VPLS, broadband).
·Monitoring and management services/tools (SNMP, SYSLOG, Cacti, Nagios).
·Linux administrative and networking experience (preferably CentOS).
·Documentation and diagrams (Microsoft Visio, etc.)

·Ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately
